Finally.  Finally, finally.  The Boston Bruins are back on the ice.  Sorta.  Today was the first day of Bruins captains practice lead by none other than Zdeno Chara.  But being that it’s just a “start kicking off the rust” type of skate there wasn’t a whole lot players in attendance.  The ones that were in attendance were some of the big boys though.

According to Bruins insider Joe Haggerty skating with Zdeno Chara today was Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Dennis Seidenberg, Brad Marchand, Tuukka Rask, and newly acquired forwards Matt Beleskey and Zac Rinaldo.  The Bruins 2015 free agent signee Noel Acciari was on hand as well.  Acciari just recently won the NCAA National Championship with Providence College this past spring and also Hockey East’s Best Defensive Forward Award.  He will be spending his first year pro getting experience with the Providence Bruins.

Not much usually goes down at these practices but it’s nice to see some the Bruins star players involved so early.  It’s a great opportunity, if anything, to acclimate the new guys into the locker room, culture, and mindset that the team needs heading into a must-rebound season the Bruins are facing.

Official rookie camp begins September 10th and the full team camp kicks off September 17th. It’s finally (almost) hockey season!
