The Providence Bruins opened their season today with a win over the Portland Pirates 6-4 at the Dunk in Providence.

Frank Vatrano made a statement and led the way with 4 goals.  Yes you read that right, 4 goals.  Vatrano got a long look during Bruins training camp and showed an NHL shot and release.  If he keeps it up he could be in the big Bruins lineup soon enough.    If Brad Marchand is out of the lineup for an extended period Vatrano, who is a left hand shot, could get a look at the NHL level.

Austin Czarnik recorded a goal and 2 assists.  Alex Khokhlachev had 2 assists.  Zane McIntyre got his first professional win.  Malcolm Subban was not dressed for the game.
