“The third line is capable of really doing some nice things this year… This years trio is much better together and much more suited for the role. Tonight in Colorado is the night when they will be effective.” – My Blog Wednesday

I’m about as humble as they come so I’m not going to say I called it.  I’m not going to mention that Wednesday was the perfect game for the Bruins third line to show up and I said that they would, and they did.  It’s not in my nature to mention I thought they could take advantage of going up against Carl Soderberg if matched up against him, which they ended up doing:

I just can’t bring myself to talk about how right I was.  It was just nice to see them have success.

That being said, one can only hope the Bruins carry this momentum into a big game Saturday against a red-hot Arizona Coyotes.  Part of the design of Boston’s forward units is to have depth scoring and not rely on just one or two lines to carry the team offensively.  Keep attacking in waves.  Their third line needs to keep taking advantage of favorable matchups.

Lastly, how about that Carl Soderberg contract the Avs gave him?  Five years at $4+ million per year?  Ouch.  Those aren’t going to be fun checks to write for the next half decade.
