(MetroNews.ca) – Zachary Senyshyn did it all himself Friday night. The 19-year-old Boston Bruins prospect scored all four goals, including the overtime winner, to lead the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds past the Barrie Colts 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action.
Man this guy has been hot. After a slow start due to various illnesses Senyshyn has finally turned the corner and is producing at a crazy clip. Once the calendar changed to November he has put up 14 points (8 goals and 6 assists) in 11 games.
And last night Senyshyn scored a couple highlight reel gems. His first goal came on a hard forecheck where he stripped the puck from the defenseman and came in one on one with the goalie. His second goal was a Senyshyn signature goal, where he simply beat the defense wide using his blazing speed. His third goal was a laser wrist shot from the high slot. Then in overtime the game winner was the real beauty. Senyshyn was battling along the boards with an opposing player when he spun to create space and had a lane to the goal. Then he beat the goalie with his deadly wrist shot. Boom. Game over.
Senyshyn is finding his game at a perfect time and the Bruins front office has to be happy seeing him rebound from a tough summer. As we mentioned in this week’s “Prospect of the Week” feature, he was selected to the Team Canada World Junior camp. It would be great for his development to make Team Canada and I am sure it means a lot to him as well.
